This tree is native to southern Mexico and Central America where it can grow as high as 140 feet! Mamey Sapote is an evergreen tree that produces a brown-skinned fruit that has an orange flesh when ripe. It is creamy and sweet and in Mexico is eaten raw or made into smoothies and ice cream.
